| Patients with diabetes require extremely specialized foot care. Diabetes can lead
to multiple problems which can affect the eyes, kidneys, heart, blood vessels and
the feet. As the disease progresses, patients become more susceptible to foot
infections. If not treated appropriately, the infection can progress rapidly leading
to systemic infections and limb loss.
